Pastor Kooi became pastor here on July 17, 2016. Before Emmaus, he attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and graduated from there in May 2016. He did his undergraduate work at Concordia University Wisconsin, where he got his degree in Pre-Seminary Studies and Biblical Languages.
Pastor Kooi is originally from Island Lake, Illinois, which is a small suburb of Chicago. He is an avid Blackhawks fan, and in his spare time, he enjoys reading, playing video games, watching movies, and hanging out with his family. He is married to Dawn and they have two daughters.
